We notify government agencies, banks, utilities, insurers, and other organizations on behalf of Ontario executors—saving families dozens of hours during an already difficult time.
Ontario-based service. Fees typically reimbursable from the estate.
The work that follows a funeral is exhausting. The CRA needs to be notified. Service Canada needs to be told. ServiceOntario, the banks, the utilities, the credit cards, the subscriptions, the pensions — each one has its own forms, its own waiting times, its own requirements.
Most executors spend 30 to 50 hours over several months handling this work, often while grieving and managing their own jobs and families. The administrative burden falls hardest on the people least able to carry it.
There's a better way.
Passage Co. is a focused done-for-you service for Ontario families settling an estate. We notify every applicable institution, follow up on responses, and deliver a complete record of every notification sent.
Unlike software platforms that ask families to enter data, sign documents, and coordinate the work themselves, we handle the entire administrative scope as a service. One intake conversation, periodic updates, and a finished binder at the end.
Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada (CPP, OAS, GIS), ServiceOntario (OHIP, driver's licence, photo ID), Passport Canada, and the credit reporting bureaus.
The major Canadian banks for estate account transitions, credit card companies, credit unions, and insurance providers.
Hydro, gas, water, telephone, internet, cable, and other essential services — cancelled or transferred as needed.
Mobile phone services, streaming services, loyalty programs, professional memberships, and other recurring accounts the estate needs closed.
We work best with three types of executors. If you see yourself in one of these descriptions, we may be a strong fit.
You have a demanding career, family responsibilities, and limited time to spend on hold with the CRA or driving to ServiceOntario. The administrative work is genuinely overwhelming on top of your existing obligations. We handle it so you can focus on what matters — your family, your work, and grieving.
Your surviving parent shouldn't have to navigate this alone, and you're managing it from a distance or alongside your own life. The administrative complexity is unfair to ask of someone who's just lost their partner. We take the weight off the family entirely.
Whether you're in Vancouver, Calgary, the United States, the United Kingdom, or further afield, you can't easily attend Ontario locations or coordinate locally. We're your Canadian presence — handling the certified mail, the in-person requirements, and the time-zone-dependent calls that you can't manage from where you are.
You have several options for help with estate administration. We're specifically designed for executors who want the work done for them, rather than a platform to use themselves.
This positioning isn't for everyone. If you have time, are comfortable with platforms, and want to actively manage the process yourself, other options may serve you better. We're built for executors who want this off their plate entirely.
A clear, four-step process. Minimal involvement from you after intake — we send milestone updates as the work progresses.
We start with a short call to understand your situation, the estate, and whether Passage Co. is the right fit. This is a chance to ask questions, understand the process, and decide whether you want support before moving forward.
You complete a focused intake package and provide the documents needed to begin. We use this information to map the estate's notification requirements and prepare the authorization materials needed for administrative follow-up.
Where an institution requires executor approval, a specific form, or a direct signature, we identify that early and guide the next step.
Passage Co. prepares, sends, and tracks notifications across the relevant institutions for the estate. This may include government agencies, credit bureaus, financial institutions, utilities, telecom providers, memberships, and other organizations identified during intake.
We monitor progress, follow up where needed, and send milestone updates so you know what has been completed and what remains in progress.
At completion, you receive a structured proof-of-notification binder documenting the work completed for the estate.
It includes the notification record, dates sent, documents submitted, confirmations received, responses available, follow-up history, and any unresolved items that may need attention from the executor or their professional advisors.
We're focused specialists, not a full-service estate firm. Being clear about our scope is important — it lets us do this one thing well, and it ensures you're not relying on us for things outside our expertise.
If you don't yet have an estate lawyer or accountant and need a referral, we're happy to recommend trusted Ontario professionals during our consultation call.
Our fees are flat, predictable, and typically reimbursable from the estate. You'll know the total cost before we begin — no hidden fees, no per-notification charges, no surprises.
For straightforward Ontario estates where the executor lives in Ontario and the scope is typical.
For estates that need broader coverage or more involved follow-up.
Includes everything in Essential, plus:
Specifically designed for executors living outside Ontario who can't physically be in the province for administrative work.
Includes everything in Complete, plus:
Most executor fees, including ours, are reimbursable from the estate as a legitimate administrative expense. This means the cost typically doesn't come from your personal funds — it comes from the estate, the same as funeral expenses, legal fees, and accounting costs. We'll discuss this on your discovery call so you understand exactly how it works for your situation.
Passage Co. was created to give Ontario families a calmer, more practical way to manage the administrative work that follows a death.
Many existing options provide checklists, guidance, or legal support, but still leave families responsible for the time-consuming work of contacting government agencies, banks, utilities, subscriptions, pension providers, and other institutions. Passage Co. was built to close that gap with a focused, professionally operated, human-led service.
Our principle is simple: when families are grieving and overwhelmed, the administrative burden should not fall entirely on them. Passage Co. helps carry that work so families can focus on what matters most.
